A recent headline from TaylorMade-Adidas highlighted a new 3-wood called RocketBallz 3-wood which hit balls father than any other 3-wood available in the market. Retail price of the new club is $229. Many may tend to buy new innovations and expensive clubs to enhance their game. But before you sunk in substantial amount of money on a 3-wood, consider few factors.

Hitting with a 3-wood should have a stance by itself, not like a driver. If you use the driver stance, the ball will top or skim it along the ground. Swing should not be too hard. You can’t reach the end of the green and why aim too far. For better results with a 3-wood, ball needs to be positioned few inches from inside the front heel and hit down on it like Tiger. Your 3-wood comes with a distance maximum and your tempo should be similar to your iron shot and don’t try to squeeze out additional 10 to 15 yards. Loft of your 3-wood should be 15 or 16 degrees in order to get the ball up. It is always a better idea to tee it up that will help you to get the height and not travel the ball along the ground.
