Tiger woods to play at Turkish Airlines Open

The world No. 1 will play at the Final Series of the European tour’s inaugural Turkish Airlines Open to be held on November 7-10, 2013 at the Montgomerrie Maxx Royal, Belek, Antalya, Turkey. 78 of golf’s best players will battle for the $7 million purse. The game will lead to the Race to Dubai, European answer to the U.S. Tour’s FedEx Cup.

Turkish Airlines Open is the first leg of a three game Final Series. The other two games include the $7 million BMW Masters from October 24-27 and $8.5 million WGC-Champions Tournament from October 31 to November 3, both to be held in Shanghai. The entire series worth combined total of $30.5 million including the $8 million DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Tiger Woods already won four times of the PGA Tour including the Players Championship. In addition to Woods, other players participating at the tournament include Sweden’s Henrik Stenson (the current leader of Race to Dubai), Northern Irish player and the youngest player ever to win the U.S. Open Rory Mcllroy, South African player Charl Schwartzel, one of games unique Lee Westwood, Hunter Mahan, Four time PGA Tour winner American Matt Kuchar, PGA Tour winner Justin Rose and 2012 US Open winner Webb Simpson.
